Gorefield Scarecrow Competition 2011
Gorefield will hold its 4th Annual Scarecrow Competition this August hoping to build on the success of the last 3 years when wonderful exhibits were displayed around the village and parish. This year's theme is Colourful Creatures - Great and Small.
Judging will take place during the week of 22nd to 28th August. This years Festival will run between Saturday 20th August and Saturday 10th September and will feature public voting which will be held over the weekend of the 27th and 28th August fromn 11am and 4pm. This will involve collecting a voting form from the village playing field, following a marked route and then scoring the exhibits as you go round. Your scores will be added to the judges scores in order to find the overall winners.
Results and presentation of trophies will take place at the Annual Flower, Vegetable and Craft Show held in the Village Hall on September 3rd 2011 with entries from 9 to 11.45, publiv viewing from 2.30pm, the trophies presented at 3pm and the auction of produce at 4pm.
