Car Scheme
What is Gorefield
Social Car Scheme? This scheme offers
door-to-door transport for people living
in Gorefield, or the surrounding area,
who are unable to use conventional public transport
and do not have the use of a car. Transport
is provided by volunteers using their
own cars. They support the community by
giving their time. Please treat them with
the courtesy and respect that they deserve.
Where can you go? The
scheme can provide transport for journeys
to Doctors, Dentists, Opticians, Chiropodists
and hospital or to visit friends and relatives
for social activities All journeys are at
the discretion of the co-ordinator and are
dependant upon availability of drivers.
What does it cost?
Passengers make a contribution of forty
pence (40p) per mile towards the cost of
their journey. This contribution is paid
to the driver on the day of travel.
